Toasty Toes campaign has come to an end

By Phi Doan

November 10th was the last day to donate new socks to the annual Toasty Toes campaign, and now comes the task of counting them up.

Rose Woodhall is the store manager of Guardian – Doon Mills Pharmacy, one of 95 locations participating in the campaign.

To her, it was a way to give back to the community and take care of the less fortunate.

“I'm happy that we're able to do as much as we can. It's a feel good thing, we don't do it for recognition,” Rose said.

Katherine and her son, Zayne had dropped off 130 pairs at the pharmacy.

“So I just got my son involved, and I asked him to set a goal,” said Katherine, “He said a hundred, and we exceeded that.”

“We just hope that we can do every year and inspire others to do so as well.”

Toasty Toes will be distributing the socks to area shelters.

Last year, 32,400 pairs of socks were distributed.

If you're still looking to contribute, it's not too late.  Send an email to ToastyToesWR@gmail.com
