Udo Haan is the suspect in a house explosion that shook Sprucedale Crescent in Kitchener and left the city stunned.
One house was completely destroyed and two others suffered extensive damage.
Haan, 58, is charged with arson disregard for human life, two counts of arson damage to property, and first degree murder.
That last charge pertains to his wife Edra's body being found in the backyard after the explosion.
Haan was injured as a result and has been phoning into his court hearings from his hospital bed thus far.
Wednesday may be his first physical appearance in the courthouse for his bail hearing.
There is a publication ban on evidence in the case.
