Severe thunderstorm watch ended for region (update)

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Environment Canada has ended its severe thunderstorm watch for Waterloo Region and surrounding area.

The weather agency had previously warned of conditions favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon that could produce winds between 90 to 100 km/h, as well as nickel to ping pong ball size hail.

That severe thunderstorm watch is now over.
