Road closures, flood warnings, cancellations galore due to ice storm

By Erin Anderson

It goes without saying, but roadways are messy thanks to the icy conditions.

The weather plethora we've experienced this week is still causing flooding too, with a number of roads shut down due to water and ice over the road.

That includes Lisbon Road East in Wilmot, and the low level bridge through St. Jacobs.

In Kitchener, a water main break has shut down Ottawa Street South from Kehl to Hoffman.

Crews are on scene, and repairs are underway.

The entire Grand River watershed remains under a flood watch, while a flood warning is in effect for the southern parts.

Full details can be found here.

The worst hit is the City of Brantford though, as it has now declared a “Significant Weather Event” – meaning programs, services and travel are severely impacted.
