Riverside PS in Elmira briefly under hold and secure

A brief hold and secure was issued for Riverside Public School in Elmira on Friday morning.
The Waterloo Region District School Board tweeting it's now been lifted, and was just in place as a precaution due to nearby police activity.
Regional Police confirm to 570 NEWS they were in the area in connection with a suspicious person investigation – but they've since left the scene.
Staff and students at the school are all safe, and no other details are available at this time.
