Three people were injured after a shooting incident in Kitchener.
Waterloo Regional Police said it happened Monday at a plaza at 500 Fairway Road South.
“Around 5:40 p.m., we responded to multiple reports of shots fired,” said WRPS Constable Andre Johnson.
Johnson said one person suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
”At this point in time, I do not have specifics on suspects. We do have members of our Major Crime Unit, members of our General Investigations Branch, and our Forensic Identification Unit here to conduct the investigation.”
As it’s early in the investigation, Johnson said he cannot confirm if the incident was targeted.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area for the investigation. Again, it was a busy time of day – so we do believe there were multiple witnesses to the events.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact WRPS or Crime Stoppers.
