Regional council to consider new airport parking lot, Bridge Street reconstruction project

By Stuart McGinn

Regional Council will vote on the spending of some big bucks on a pair of projects at its meeting Wednesday night.

Amid the continued expansion of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, council will vote on a nearly $5.9 million construction project for a new parking lot.

And, more paving work could also be set for a portion of Bridge Street.

A more than $9 million reconstruction project will be considered Wednesday night.

That roadwork would cover Bridge Street between University Avenue and Lancaster Street.

Aside from these two projects, decriminalizing drugs will also be a major topic of discussion.
