Redman named chair of Mayors and Regional Chairs of Ontario

Waterloo Region's Chair Karen Redman has been named chair of the Mayors and Regional Chairs of Ontario (MARCO).

"MARCO brings Ontario regional chairs and large, single-tier city mayors together to discuss common issues of concern, including provincial and federal matters. They work together to advocate for policy action and change on behalf of MARCO members. MARCO represents more than 9.7 million residents of Ontario." stated a release.

Redman said she is honoured to be named chair of MARCO.

"I look forward to working with my counterparts across Ontario on common issues such as affordable housing, economic development and transit infrastructure funding." she said.

District of Muskoka Chair John Klinck has been elected vice chair.
