Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the death of a man in Kitchener as a homicide.
Police say they showed up to a residence, located at 926 Courtland Avenue East at around 8:45 p.m. on Monday, to investigate a report of an injured man.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
"Our officers responded and entered the residence and did determine there was a deceased male, approximately 60 years old, within the residence, with obvious signs of trauma." Inspector Michael Haffner told reporters at the scene.
A post-mortem is scheduled to be done in Hamilton on Tuesday.
Police want to speak to a man who was seen in the area at the time.
He's described as white, in his late 20's to early 30's with a thin build and short, light-coloured hair. He had a black backpack and was carrying a guitar.
There will be an increased police presence in the area.

This is Waterloo Region's second murder of the year.
