Police investigate two robberies in Cambridge (update)

Regional police are investigating two convenience store robberies. Both occurred in Cambridge on Friday night.

The first reported incident happened around 7:20 p.m. in the Cedar Street and Berkley Road area.

According to the service, a male suspect entered a store in that area and demanded cash from an employee while brandishing the knife. That suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. In that incident, the suspect was described as a white male between the ages of 40 to 60 years old – last seen wearing a brown or green jacket, work boots, gloves and a blue mask.

The second incident was reported at 8:10 p.m. in the area of Cambridge Street and Market Street, as regional police said an unknown male entered the store and demanded cash while also brandishing a knife. In that robbery, the male suspect was chased out of the store by an employee, and police were called shortly after. 

In the second incident, the suspect was described as a white male in his 30s with a heavy build – last seen wearing black pants, a black baseball hat and a multi-coloured bandana covering his face. 

Both investigations are ongoing.
