Part of the Iron Horse Trail in Kitchener is going to be closed for a few months as of Monday, June 24.
The closure impacts the trail between Queen Street South and Ottawa Street South.
A number of improvements, based on public feedback, are being made to the popular trail, including wider re-paved surfaces, pedestrian lighting and line painting.
It's anticipated the work will be done by October.
The city suggests the follow detours:
Detour 1: David Street to pathway beside Joseph Schneider Haus to Mitchell Street to Whitney Place (sound bound cyclists to use Bruder Avenue) to Cedar Street South to Courtland Avenue East.
Detour 2: Courtland Avenue East to Borden Avenue South to Nyberg Street.
More on the Iron Horse Trail can be found on the city's website.
