New pedestrian, cycling bridge to be built in Kitchener this spring

By Maddie Demarte

A $7 million construction project is expected to begin in Kitchener late next month, or early June.

The work is to build a new pedestrian and cycling bridge crossing Highway 7/8 between Strasburg Road and Avalon Place.

New multi-use trail connections will also be installed to Stirling Avenue and Ottawa Street, according to the region.

With work starting either late May of this year, or early June, it's scheduled to wrap up in July 2022.
