New centre to help former Erwin Hymer workers opens next week

More help is on the way for displaced Erwin Hymer workers in Kitchener and Cambridge.

What's called the “Erwin Hymer Action Centre” – a support hub – will open Monday at the United Way office at Sportsworld Crossing.

It's the latest move by all levels of government to help the over 800 workers, who lost their jobs this past winter when Erwin Hymer Group North America went into receivership.

Earlier efforts included a series of information sessions for those workers, as well as the establishment of temporary employment hubs.
