Their downtown Kitchener location is offering a new Ceremonies in the Stacks wedding package, which they say is “perfect for couples looking for a unique and intimate way to celebrate with friends and family.”
The package costs $999, and includes a one-hour ceremony with up to 30 guests, a wedding officiant, book-themed decorations, and 30 minutes of photography time to take photos in their award-winning Central Library.
“We’ve been approached for engagement and wedding photoshoots in the past, so why not take it one step further and offer weddings at the library as well? For many, the library has played a key role in their story, making it an extra special place to exchange vows,” said Mary Chevreau, CEO of the Kitchener Public Library. “Reimaging the library as a venue for special events, like weddings, allows us to continue to offer innovative library programs and services.”
In celebration of the launch and in acknowledgement of how difficult the past year has been for many, KPL is giving away one free wedding to a lucky couple through a draw. The winning couple will be able to choose from select dates in 2021.
They emphasize that the library is “an inclusive space and all love is welcome.”
