Local start-up launches health data platform

A Waterloo based start-up company has created an online platform to help individuals keep all their health data organized.

Tamvoes Health Inc. developed the platform with the help of students from Wilfrid Laurier University, Conestoga College and The University of Waterloo.

Maddy McBay, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Tamvoes said the platform is more directed at the user then health professionals.

“We allow individuals to go onto our site and record all types of different information and ultimately be able to share this very simply with their family members, so we want to encourage efficiency within healthcare.”

She went on to explain what types of data can be uploaded to the website.

“We want to provide a chronological journal and system tracking for symptoms and vitals for individuals, so its more like your own personal virual journal for your healthcare information.”

McBay said this platform will help ease the stress and frustration on individuals.

“We have to repeat ourselves all the time, so we want to help people to have control over their information and know how to really get a hold of it be more informed about their own care.”

Tamvoes is working with Blackberry Spark to increase security on their platform.

As they continue to expand they are developing their professional team side of the platform, which will be directing more towards massage therapists, physiotherapists and other medicial professionals to be able to onboard their clients and connect through the systems.
