Local scooter company signs deal with student group at University of Windsor

By Blair Adams

Students at the University of Windsor will soon be able to ZIP around campus.

ZIP Dockless Inc., based in Waterloo Region, announced Thursday it has signed an agreement with the University of Windsor Students' Alliance, with the goal to bring their scooters to campus once the current road regulations in the province are amended.

“UWSA sees the long-term benefits of working with a local company that can provide alternative, affordable, and environmentally-friendly transportation options for its students.” said ZIP Founder, Luke Mydlarz.

They're hoping to have the service up and running by the fall.

KitchenerToday.com first introduced you to Canada's first dockless scooter company in March.

ZIP's scooter was designed in Waterloo Region, along with all of the software that connects to its app.

As it stands now, dockless scooters or e-scooters, are not allowed on roads or sidewalks in Ontario.
