Colleen James of Kitchener was recognized at this weekend's virtual Canada International Black Women Event.
She was one of the top recipients of this year's '100 Black Women to Watch' list.
In a Facebook post, James called the recognition 'truly humbling'.
“It is a privilege and an honour to be recognized by CIBWE and join amazing Black women who continue to hustle, making their communities and work spaces better for everyone while holding down families,” said James.
James is currently a professor at Conestoga College and operates as the CEO of Divonify.
Her resume also includes acting as a current member of the Kitchener Mayor's Task Force for Equity Diversity and Inclusion, and recently moderated the Region of Waterloo's anti-racism townhall.
