Laurier and UW student unions provide resources for victims of sexual violence

By Mark Pare

As students at Western University in London get set to protest what they call a “culture of misogyny” at their school Friday, student unions at both Laurier and the University of Waterloo want peers to know they will not tolerate incidents of sexual violence either.

The Laurier Students' Union said it condemns “all forms of sexual assault, violence and harassment,” and hope anyone impacted by recent incidents reach out to supports.

You can email staff with the school's Gendered and Sexual Violence response at svinfo@wlu.ca.

You can also call 24 Hour Sexual Assault Support lines provided by community partners in both Waterloo and Brantford.

The Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association added that many in their community are feeling the impact of the news coming out of Western, and are also providing resources to students.
