Kitchener setting up Tree of Remembrance again

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Kitchener Cemeteries will be setting up its annual Tree of Remembrance at Williamsburg Cemetery next month.

The tree is 18-feet. Families are invited to attend the opening event on Saturday, December 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free ornaments will be available (while supplies last), but residents can also bring their own ornament to honour a loved one.

A tree located in the Dedication Centre will also be decorated with winter outerwear. Residents can decorate it with new items for those in need this holiday season. Items donated will go to St. John’s Kitchen and YWCA Mary’s Place.

If you can't make the opening event Dec. 3, ornaments can be placed on the tree and new winter outerwear items will be accepted until the end of December, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
