Kitchener resident celebrating $124K lottery win

Plans include paying off his mortgage
Mariusz Tokarski

Mariusz Tokarski has plenty of plans for his windfall.

The Kitchener man recently won over $124,000 on Pools.

He said this is his first major win, but he did win over $6,000 on Pools seven years ago.

Tokarski realized he won big after watching the last game. "At the end, I knew I won right away. It felt surreal," he shared while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. "I've been playing forever and when you win such a big amount it really is a different feeling. The first person I told was my mother and she was so happy for me."

He plans to pay off his mortgage, pay some bills, complete some home renovations and save his winnings.

"I feel like I am well ahead right now. It's life changing," Tokarski added.

He purchased the winning ticket at Petro Canada on Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener.
