On Sunday October 6, 2018 at approximately 4:38 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on Wellington Road 21 and Side Road 4 in the Township of Centre Wellington.

At that time officers investigated the male driver of a red vehicle that entered into the check point and determine that he had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

33-year-old Travis HABERMEHL of Kitchener has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on October 30, 2018 to answer to his charge.
