Kitchener man arrested in connection to unprovoked, violent attack in Waterloo

An 18-year-old Kitchener man has been arrested, after violent, unprovoked attacks in Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police say the man was arrested Friday.

The man has been charged with three counts of Weapons Dangerous, two counts of Assault Cause Bodily Harm, three counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Attempt Robbery and Breach Probation.

Regional Police say they began their investigation on Thursday, after three men were stabbed by an unknown man in the area of King Street North and University Avenue between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m.

Officers called the attacks “unprovoked, violent altercations.”

One victim received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, another victim received serious injuries and was later released from the hospital, while the third victim received just minor injuries.
