Kitchener has the fourth best labour market in Canada.
That's according to The Bank of Montreal's Labour Market Report Card for the fourth quarter of 2019.
The region boasts an unemployment rate of 5.2 per cent.
Last year, Kitchener was 12th on the same list.
Our neighbours in Guelph fared even better, listed as the top labour market in the country.
"Guelph’s top ranking, we believe, still reflects a strong Ontario service/tech sector and spillover from the GTA labour market," says BMO report author Robert Kavlic in the report released earlier this month.
London was tenth. It was the only other city from southwestern Ontario that made the top ten.
The ranking is a weighted ranking based on a number of factors, including population, employment and unemployment rates.
The ranking does not take into consideration the types of jobs available.
