By Erin Anderson

Those working in fire services in Kitchener will be receiving a bit of a wage boost.

In a release, the city said council approved a two-year agreement with the Kitchener Professional Firefighters Association on Monday.

It was initially ratified by union members on March 30.

It will see an immediate wage increase of more than 1.9 per cent, followed by another increase of just under 1.7 per cent in 2022.

The previous contract expired on New Year's Eve.
