Humane Society to host ‘Dash and Splash’ Sept. 12

After taking a gap year in 2020, the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is excited to announce the return of the ‘Dash and Splash’ fundraiser. The event will be held at Kiwanis Park, Waterloo on September 12th, 2021 from 10AM to 2PM.

‘Dash and Splash’ is an annual fundraiser that includes a walkathon and a dog park pool party at Kiwanis Park. The funds raised help provide care and life saving medical treatments for the animals at the Humane Society. To gain access to this event, individual participants need to raise as little as $30, while corporate teams need to raise at least $300 prior to the event. General admission will also be available on the day of the event for those who aren’t interested in fundraising.

”Although the walkathon component of ‘Dash and Splash’ will be virtual this year, the main event will be held in person, rain or shine.” said Nick Burke, Director of Development at HSKWSP. “We are looking forward to seeing pet owners bring their dogs to Kiwanis Park to enjoy the pool, take part in games & giveaways, and get to know other pet owners in their community.”

In addition to gaining access to the Kiwanis Park pool, individual fundraisers have a chance to win a Fitbit Versa Lite, a dog gift package, naming rights for the Humane Society’s upcoming puppy or kitten litter, a playdate and a tour of the KWHS dog park and centre, and a $500 shopping spree at Ren’s Pet Depot.

Corporate teams are also encouraged to participate. Some of the perks for corporate teams include social media shoutouts, a chance to win a tour of KW centre, a team volunteer opportunity and an exclusive Q&A session with the KW Humane Society staff.
