The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is thrilled to launch their first-ever 50/50 online raffle as the grand finale in the Bake for the Animals fundraiser.

“So far, we’ve collected just over $6,000 in proceeds from the sales of the baked goods contributed by the participating bakeries and individual baking enthusiasts.” said Nick Burke, Director of Development at HSKWSP. “COVID-19 restrictions made it challenging to run the Bake for the Animals fundraiser this year. We are still quite a bit behind our $20,000 goal, and hope that the 50/50 raffle will help us raise the additional funds needed to care for the vulnerable animals in our communities.”

The raffle tickets went on sale today at 9:30am on the HSKWSP website and will be available until 11:59am on April 30th, 2021.

To purchase a ticket, you must be 18 years of age or older and you must be within Ontario at the time of purchase to qualify. The ticket prices are: 1 ticket for $10.00, 20 tickets for $20.00, and 100 tickets for $50.00.

“Since kitten season started early this year, our centres are already starting to fill up with litters and the additional funds from the 50/50 draw will be very timely.” added Burke. “They will go toward purchasing the necessary supplies, and getting the estimated 500 adult cats and 450+ kittens that come through our centres each year spayed or neutered, and ready to go to their furever homes.”

Thank you to everyone who’s supported the Bake for the Animals fundraiser and good luck to those purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets. The winner will be notified by email on April 30th.
