All three hospitals in Waterloo Region have waived parking fees.

The decision to waive was made by the chief executive officers of St. Mary's General Hospital, Grand River Hospital and Cambridge Memorial Hospital last week.

This will include free parking for all staff as well as visitors amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

An internal memo sent out to Cambridge Memorial Hospital staff reads, "It is recognized this is a challenging time for you and our community, and it is hoped that waiving these costs will lessen some of this burden."

Arianna Ongaro, a spokesperson for St. Mary's says, the hospital will be assessing this decision month-to-month as we move through the pandemic.
