Grand River Transit is adding service to Breslau as part of a pilot project.

Route 79 Breslau starts Monday, July 11.

The project is in partnership with Metrolinx. It will connect residents to key destinations, including schools, the regional airport, as well as the GRT network with connections to GO Transit.

There's no fixed route or schedule. It will serve flexible transit stops based on the most efficient route for customers onboard and planned pick-up and drop-offs. It can be booked through the GRT Flex app.

“This pilot project expands on GRT’s existing flexible transit umbrella of services and will help determine demand and ridership in Breslau as it continues to develop,” explained Neil Malcolm, the region's acting director of transit services. “For the first time, we’ll have a transit option for residents travelling to and from our growing airport.”

The service will be free for customers to try until September 2.
