The Green Party has nominated a candidate to run in the riding of Kitchener Centre when the provincial election campaign rolls around.

Wayne Mak has a decade of experience in the tech industry and is a computer science graduate from the University of Waterloo.

“Having more Greens represented at Queen’s Park means more climate action and more collaboration in government,” Mak said in a release. “I’ve been so inspired by Mike (Schreinerand the Ontario Greens team, and I’m looking forward to connecting with my neighbours and having conversations about the issues that matter to them most.”

Mak also calls downtown Kitchener home.

The provincial vote is set for June 2.

In 2021, Mike Morrice of the federal Greens was elected MP for Kitchener Centre, becoming the party's first MP elected in Ontario.
