Gore Mutual Insurance donates $60K to area charities

It was part of $95,000 the company distributed to charities across the country

The giving spirit is alive and well at Cambridge-based Gore Mutual Insurance Company.

Through its Gore Mutual Foundation, the organization recently donated $95,000 to charities across the country, as part of its Healthy for the Holidays campaign.

$40,000 of that went to the United Way Waterloo Region Communities, while the Food Bank of Waterloo Region and Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank each received a $10,000 grant.

"We're so grateful and honoured to receive this gift from Gore Mutual," said Joan Fisk, CEO of United Way Waterloo Region Communities. "Gore Mutual has supported United Way for decades and understands that supporting critical services and programs is now more important than ever. Their generous gift will ensure that we can continue to help those who need it most and Waterloo Region can recover, renew and rebuild."
