Eastwood Collegiate wins $20,000 in new technology

A big win for Eastwood Collegiate Institute in Kitchener.
The school was selected by Earth Day Canada as a winner of the 2019 Superpower your School contest.
As a prize, the school will receive $20,000 in new technology from Staples Canada.
The announcement was made during a school assembly on Wednesday afternoon.
Eastwood has been running a number of initiatives over the years, including a community garden, where the produce is sold to students and staff.
Through a public awareness campaign, students also helped persuade the public school board to begin switching lighting to LED.
