Crash in Wilmot Township claims life of Kitchener man (update)

A 74-year-old Kitchener man has died after a crash in Wilmot Township.

Regional police and other emergency crews got to the scene of a single vehicle crash just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a Toyota Highlander was going southbound on Queen, when the driver lost control, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the ditch.

Police said the man was pronounced dead on scene.

The passenger, a 77-year-old woman from Kitchener, suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for about six hours, but is back open.
