Christmas movie being filmed in Kitchener this week

Downtown Kitchener will look festive this week when a Canadian film crew arrives to film a TV movie called Loving Christmas. Filming will be taking place on the corner of King and Queen Streets.
Under current provincial restrictions film and television production is permitted to continue. All crew members are expected to follow COVID safety guidelines developed by the Ontario Ministry of Health and filming industry. Some safety measures include an onsite COVID officer, daily testing and contact tracing, enhanced sanitation and cleaning measures’, masks and physical distancing on set, and medical grade air purification systems for indoor work.
Businesses and residents can expect minimal disruption with just a one-day sidewalk closure planned for today; Monday, Jan 18 (the sidewalks on both sides of Queen Street outside the Walper Hotel entrance) the sidewalk closest to Queen Street outside the Walper Hotel). Filming is planned to continue until Friday, Jan. 22.
