It took an extra day to decide, but Karen Redman is the regional chair-elect for Waterloo Region.
And she won the vote in convincing fashion.
The former Liberal MP received over 62 per cent of the vote, defeating Rob Deutschmann by over 46,000 votes.
Almost 20,000 people voted for Deutschmann, followed by Jan d'Ailly with over 10,000, then Jay Aissa, who finished last with just over 9,600 votes.
Due to online and telephone voting issues, results were held up in Woolwich and Wellesley Township.
The deadline in those two townships was extended until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Redman, a former Liberal MP, will replace Ken Seiling who is retiring after 33 years as regional chair.
She is expected to be officially declared sometime tomorrow.
Redman will also be a guest on The Mike Farwell Show on 570 NEWS at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
