Advanced voting also up in Woolwich

Just like advanced voting in Waterloo, more people have also cast their ballots in Woolwich Township.
As of Tuesday, over six per cent of eligible voters had voted in an advanced poll.
That compares to just over four per cent during the municipal election in 2014.
This is the first time Woolwich has offered internet and telephone voting.
“Feedback received so far has mainly been positive, with many expressing that voting by internet or telephone is quick and easy, so if you haven't already, vote today!” Township of Woolwich Deputy Clerk, Jeff Smith, said in a release.
There was no challenger for mayor in the township, Sandy Shantz was acclaimed.
Voting is open until the polls close at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 22.
