Kitchener Rangers forward Declan McDonnell is in the running for a spot on the United States' World Junior hockey team.
He's one of 24 forwards invited to the World Junior Summer Showcase for Team USA.
The showcase takes place in Plymouth, Michigan July 24-31.
This is ahead of the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta this winter.
McDonnell was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round in 2020, and with the OHL shut down for 2020-21, spent last season with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.
