Rangers a point from locking up a playoff spot

Kitchener can gain that point on a rare Monday road trip to Erie

An OHL playoff spot is so close, the Kitchener Rangers can taste it.

With four games left on the schedule, Kitchener just needs a single point to bypass any tiebreaking scenarios and clinch one of the top eight spots in the Western Conference.

This follows what was a successful weekend, after Kitchener collected two straight wins: a 5-2 decision over Sarnia Friday, and a 4-1 win over Owen Sound on Saturday.

They can get the job done Monday night, when they visit the Erie Otters.

The pregame on CityNews 570 starts at 5:35 p.m., ahead of a 6 p.m. puck drop.
