There's new bulletin board material for the Kitchener Rangers as they prepare for Game 6 of their opening round playoff series with the London Knights.

The league issued a statement Tuesday afternoon, admitting an error was made on a disputed goal scored by Rangers' forward Mike Petizian in the second period of Game 5 on Sunday afternoon.

"Based on a review by the League, an error was made and the play in question should have been ruled a goal for the Rangers as it was directed into the net with a Ranger stick and not a distinct kicking motion of the puck with a skate as ruled." the league said.

The Rangers were also fined $2,500 for comments Kitchener head coach Mike McKenzie made post-game about the blown call, which the league says is in violation of OHL policy.

The Knights hold a 3-2 lead in the series heading into Game 6 at The Kitchener Aud on Tuesday. CityNews 570 has the pre-game show beginning at 6:30 p.m.
