It will be a hard birthday to beat.
Kitchener Rangers captain Francesco Pinelli has signed with the Los Angeles Kings.
“We are very excited for Francesco and his family. It's great to see him reach one of his goals,” said Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Mike McKenzie. “We look forward to seeing him continue to develop as a Ranger before moving on to pro hockey.”
Pinelli was picked in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry-level Draft with the 42nd pick.
The news comes on Pinelli's 19th birthday.
The Stoney Creek native is in his second season with the Rangers, and was named Captain ahead of the current season.
The Rangers are in action Monday night in Erie, and London Wednesday.
