For a 24th straight season, CityNews 570 will be the official radio partner of the Kitchener Rangers.

You will be able to hear all 68 regular season games on the radio and online, as well as any playoff games.

Veteran play-by-play announcer and talk show host Mike Farwell will provide the play-by-play coverage, with Chris Pope offering colour commentary. The duo is entering their fifth year in the broadcast booth together.

“CityNews 570 is extremely excited to continue our partnership with the Kitchener Rangers as they enter their 60th season,” said Director of News & Programming, CityNews 570, James Sebastian-Scott. “The Kitchener Rangers broadcasts are an important part of our local programming. We look forward to continue delivering each and every game for the community and for fans of the Kitchener Rangers.”

In addition to the radio coverage, Rogers tv (channel 20 for Rogers cable TV subscribers) will broadcast 57 games locally.

Broadcast partners for the upcoming season were announced by the Rangers on Wednesday.

“We’re thrilled to have more than 90-percent of Rangers’ games broadcast live on television and all games covered on the radio this season, keeping Rangers’ fans connected both at home and on the road. We are grateful for Rogers Media (CityNews 570) and Rogers tv’s continued support and broadcast coverage of Kitchener Rangers Hockey.” added Kitchener Rangers Senior Director of Broadcasting, Communications and Hockey Operations, Dominic Hennig.

Kitchener plays its home and season opener versus Sarnia this Friday. CityNews 570 will have the pre-game show at 7 p.m.

Rogers is the parent company of CityNews 570.
