NEWS RELEASE
WATERLOO REGION DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
*************************
Our Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is looking for new members for the 2021-22 school year. We invite parents/caregivers of students currently enrolled in any of our schools to apply.

As a PIC member, you have an opportunity to strengthen parent/caregiver partnership in education and be part of a group that helps each student achieve their full potential.

Whether you are from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, or one of the Townships, we would like PIC to be representative of the students and families we serve. We also strongly encourage Indigenous, Black and racialized parents/caregivers, newcomers and parents/caregivers of diverse communities to get involved.

The committee meets six times a year, and consists of parent volunteers and school board staff, including the director of education, trustees, school administrators, and community members. The role of the committee is to help inform school board staff on policies and issues that concern families. Members also organize activities to help families support their child’s learning at home and school. Members are encouraged to participate in at least one of the PIC working groups. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant event
  • Safe, Caring & Inclusive School (SCIS)
  • Governance

Interested parents/caregivers can find more information about PIC at www.wrdsb.ca/pic.

Apply today. The deadline is Monday, May 31.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of PIC.
