By CityNews Kitchener Staff

It was originally reported by the university as one case, but on Friday the University of Waterloo confirmed there have been two recent cases of COVID-19 at the Waterloo campus.

They are the first cases reported at UW since August 31.

The two individuals are now self-isolating and public health has notified any high-risk contacts.

No other details on the case will be released due to privacy protocols.

In 2020, UW had reported three COVID-19 cases between Oct. 5 and Oct. 14.
