The City of Cambridge has confirmed two of its firefighters have tested positive for COVID-19.

And since there are two cases, health officials have declared a workplace outbreak at one of the fire stations, although the location is not being released.

Anyone identified as a high-risk contact will be notified and instructed to seek testing and self-isolate.

“Fire stations are not open to the general public, and firefighters who respond to calls are in full personal protective equipment for everyone’s safety at all times. Please note that service to our community and regular response operations will not be impacted.” stated a news release from the city.

The city also says to protect the privacy of those involved, no further information will be provided.
