The Waterloo Region District School Board has provided an update as to how many of its employees have provided their vaccine status so far.

Over 66 per cent have done so, 95.4 per cent of which are fully vaccinated.

Staff who don't disclose their status, or who aren't fully vaccinated, need to take part in regular COVID-19 testing.

The Ministry of Education directed publicly funded schools to implement immunization disclosure policies for workers prior to the start of the new school year.

The school board indicates data will be updated again on September 22.

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) also provided a summary of its workers' vaccination status.

The data shows that 89.2 per cent of Catholic board employees and trustees have declared their vaccination status and 80.9 per cent are fully vaccinated, while 0.2 per cent provided documentation for a valid medical exemption.

More than 850 other individuals who are frequently in Catholic schools and other WCDSB settings have also been asked to submit an attestation form; so far, 68 per cent have declared their status, 78 per cent are fully vaccinated, and 0.8 per cent presented a valid medical exemption.
