Over 55K doses administered at Bingemans vaccine clinic

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Over 55,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine went into arms at Bingemans Conference Centre in Kitchener.

Regional Chair Karen Redman said the region is incredibly grateful to the team at Bingemans for their support.

“Bingemans hosted our highly efficient hockey-hub model and very popular drive-thru clinics. The venue and the Bingemans team, as well as the countless staff and community volunteers, allowed us to expand vaccine availability at some of the most critical times in the pandemic.” Redman said in a news release.

The region also pointed out, at three separate times during the vaccine rollout, Bingemans opened clinics on very short notice.

The clinic is now closed, but the partnership remains ongoing should there be a need for clinics in the future.

To date, over 82 per cent of eligible residents (5 and over) have been fully vaccinated. Over 258,000 third doses have been administed to residents of Waterloo Region.
