Kitchener resident celebrating over $122K lotto win

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

At first, Nancy Ahrens thought there was something wrong with the machine when she checked her Lotto 6/49 ticket.

“I was in disbelief when I saw the prize amount. I thought the machine was broken!” the Kitchener resident shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

The educational assistant and mother of two won over $122,000 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on September 11.

Ahrens immediately went home to share the news with her husband. “I’m pretty sure he was more excited than me!”

She plans to use some of her winnings on home renovations and will share some with family.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Ira Needles Boulevard in Kitchener.
