West Region OPP investigating five bank robberies (5 photos)

A number of police services, including West Region OPP continue to investigate several bank robberies over the course of a month.

Throughout March and early April this year, five robberies occurred in several communities including Markham, Fonthill, Moorefield, Embro, and in Scotland.

In all five cases, two suspects entered a bank wearing disguises and were armed with a firearm. They were successfully able to leave with a quantity of cash.

A full description of each robbery can be found below: 

On March 7, 2018, two suspects entered a CIBC branch in Markham wearing disguises and left with a quantity of cash. One was dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey track pants, a grey face covering, and a dark baseball cap; the other was dressed in a black hooded jacket, black pants and a grey face covering.

On March 8, 2018, two suspects entered a TD branch in Fonthill wearing disguises and left with a quantity of cash. One was dressed in a green sweater, dark pants, dark sunglasses and a red bandana face covering; the other was wearing a grey sweater, baseball cap and had a white face covering.

On March 13, 2018, two suspects entered an RBC branch in Moorefield wearing disguises and left with a quantity of cash. One was dressed in dark clothing with a white scarf covering his face; the other was dressed in dark clothing wearing a Nike ball cap and a red bandana covering face. 

On March 29, 2018, two suspects entered an RBC branch in Embro wearing disguises and left with a quantity of cash. One was wearing a grey and black striped sweater with a dark hood covering the face and blue gloves; the other was wearing a red Adidas sweater with a yellow hood, dark face covering and orange gloves. 

On April 6, 2018, two suspects entered an RBC branch in Scotland wearing disguises and left with a quantity of cash. One was wearing a grey shirt, grey baseball cap, with a black hood covering his face and blue gloves; the other was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a dark face covering. 

The Canadian Bankers Association is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
