OPP investigate fatal small plane crash near Stratford Airport (update)

The investigation is ongoing after a small plane crash in Stratford on Tuesday morning. 

As of 9:30 a.m., Perth County OPP were on scene in the Stratford Municipal Airport area due to the incident. 

According to OPP, a small double-engine plane crashed in a field off Perth Line 43 just after 9 a.m. 

An OPP spokesperson confirmed there was one fatality. The individual has been identified as an adult male, who was the only occupant in the plane. 

Police are working with Transport Canada on the investigation.

Perth Line 43 was closed between Road 109 and Road 110 for several hours for the investigation, but has since reopened.
