Male injured in Stratford shooting

Suspect fled in a white car, which police say could possibly be a Chevrolet Monte Carlo

A shooting occurred on Stratford Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The Stratford Police Service (SPS) closed the street for the investigation. It is currently investigating, though the street has been reopened.

At this time, they have determined that an unknown male suspect discharged a firearm at the male victim outside his home. The suspect then fled the scene in a white vehicle, described as possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The suspect travelled south on Stratford and turned onto Cambria Street toward Erie Street.

One male victim is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released from medical care shortly. The SPS are reporting that the shooting appears to be targeted and it is not believed there is a danger to the public.

Residents with video surveillance in the surrounding area are being asked to review their footage and contact police if they see anything of interest.

Anyone with information can contact the SPS at 519-271-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
