Death of man in Speed River area under investigation

On Feb. 2, 2019 at approximately 10 p.m., Guelph Police were contacted about a male in distress in the Speed River at the area of Wellington Street and Arthur Street. Police, Guelph Fire and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services searched the area and a male was located and transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male has not been identified pending next of kin and Guelph Police would like to speak to any witnesses.
